Santa Barbara
Hotel Californian
Located in the heart of Santa Barbara, the Hotel Californian is adjacent to the city’s vibrant Funk Zone and steps from the Pacific Ocean and Union Station. Combining quintessential California Spanish Colonial architecture with interiors from celebrity designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, this bespoke coastal retreat has grabbed local and national attention since its debut in September 2017.
Meticulously crafted on the site of the original 1925 Hotel Californian, the 121-room Hotel Californian, at the intersection of State and Mason Streets, features paseos, gardens, fountains, open plazas, and unparalleled venues, including a rooftop pool and event deck, ballroom and a variety of meeting and event spaces, together with a Moroccan-inspired spa and salon, fitness center, fashion boutique, and a myriad of distinctive dining options. As a result, the Hotel Californian has redefined the Santa Barbara waterfront. Surrounded by tasting rooms from some of the finest Santa Barbara wineries, eclectic restaurants and boutiques, and the MOXI (The Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation), the Hotel Californian has become the activity center of State Street and the Funk Zone.

Santa Barbara Experiences
As you take the Pacific Coastal Highway, make sure you spend at least one or better still two days in and around America’s Riviera. You won’t regret it.
Follow in the footsteps of the award-wining film “Sideways” and take a wine and food tour in the Santa Ynez Valley. Meet winemakers and sample the delights of this region’s wines.
And find out if Pinot Noir really is better than Merlot (lovers of the film will understand…). Go out kayaking or take a private sail along America’s Riviera. Take a free walking tour with local expert guide John (yes sometimes there is such a thing as a free lunch). Go horseback riding in the hills or on the beach and enjoy a picnic afterwards. Take to two wheels and cycle through the vineyards of Santa Ynez and Solvang. Take a private yoga session on the beach, in a park or in the vineyards and treat yourself to a glass or two afterwards. Catch a wave and go “Surfin Safari” with your own private one on one lesson. Go whale watching (best between February and May) and see an abundance of whales and dolphins. Stick to the city and go on a city wine tasting tour in the various tasting rooms. Meet winemakers and blend your own wine. Even learn to paint with wine whilst you enjoy a glass.
