The Northern Lights are visible from September to early April. Your guide will help you maximize your chances of seeing the Auroras. The hotels or villas you stay at in the countryside are optimally located for Northern Lights viewing.

Lunar Landscape of Reykjanes Peninsula
This morning, explore the lunar landscape of Reykjanes peninsula, where US astronauts trained in the 1960’s. Go for a private Quad-Bike tour in the lava fields near Geldingadalur volcano, which erupted for 6 months in 2021. Later in the day, explore the geothermal area at Krýsuvík; the bridge between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates; and the black-sand beaches on the west side of the peninsula.
Glacier Lagoon
Today, travel by helicopter to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon in southwest Iceland and go for a zodiac tour among the icebergs. Along the way, make stops at scenic viewpoints in the Icelandic highlands: mountaintops, glaciers, and hot springs. End in Reykjavik and check into the new Reykjavik Edition Hotel.
Inside the Volcano
Journey 45 min. east of Reykjavik to Thrihnjukagigur (3H) volcano, where you will drop over 400 ft. into the crater of an extinct volcano. 3H last erupted over 4,000 years ago and left behind a perfectly formed magma chamber discovered by chance in 1974.
Later in the day go hiking in the geothermal area near Mt. Hengill before returning to Reykjavik.
45 min drive, 1 hour hike each way – or 15 helicopter ride. Afternoon hiking optional.
Deplar Farm
Fly from Reykjavik to Akureyri in North Iceland either by commercial, charter and then transfer by land to Deplar Farm. Or travel via helicopter sightseeing flight across the highlands directly to Deplar Farm (with one stop in highlands on the way). 45 min flight from Reykjavik to Akureyri. (Transfer from Akureyri to Deplar managed by Deplar approx 90 min.). OR 1.5 hrs helicopter flight from Reykjavik directly to Deplar Farm.
Deplar Farm in remote Fljot Valley
Originally an Icelandic sheep farm located in the remote Fljót Valley in the north, Deplar has been stylishly renovated and expanded. It is designed with its Scandinavian roots and discerning travelers’ wishes in mind.
Guests have exclusive access to the property’s beautiful geothermal indoor/outdoor pool, spacious spa, fireplace lounge, media room, extensive bar and on-staff guide team who is always ready to lead you on your next adventure. Transfer from Deplar
Transfer from Deplar Farm to Akureyri. Fly to Reykjavik by commercial air or to Keflavik by charter flight or helicopter.
Transfer from Deplar to Akureyri (managed by Deplar). Commercial flight from Akureyri to Reykjavik 45 min, transfer to Keflavik 45 min. Or charter flight from Akureyri directly to Keflavik International Airport, 60 minutes.
